The parole law changes as part of Senate Bill 500 have Republicans and Democrats up and down the ballot fighting, with Governor Lynch, a Democrat from Hopkinton, possibly with the most to lose on Nov. 2. The issue is a major ammo dump for Republican gubernatorial candidate John Stephen, and for Raymond C. Buckley II, the chairman of the state Democrats, who loves a good fight. Buckley's got a particularly sharp attack on Stephen, via radio ads, that is running statewide. The Republican Governors' Association has additional spots attacking Lynch.
Today and tomorrow, as Paula Tracy reports, Concord will be abuzz over possible changes in the law.
